As Furuya receive his number, he could not contain his shock but he did acknowledge Sawamura and say congratulation to him (development), Miyuki also think that's it's a new starting point for Furuya.

The manager also thought about consoling Furuya as well by saying despite his number 1 being doubled to Number 11 now, his responsibilities are now doubled as well but he thought twice about it (maybe realized it may have been lame) and refrain not to.
Ochiai still believes that he wanted to prevent the risk of halting Furuya growth by retaining his Ace number as well as maintaining Sawamura growth by harboring adversity but think back on how Kataoka trust both of his pitchers to growth with their new responsibilities.

The other teams are very shocked that Furuya isn't the Ace of Seidou, they wonder is it because he was injured or something. Some wonder if Furuya was out of shape and could not find his pitching back in Senbatsu. Others wonder if that was the case then why Kawakami isn't the Ace of Seidou. Others discuss that Sawamura has been tearing it up since Hakruyu game. Some other thinks that there are no holes within Seidou's bullpen anymore.

Haruno thinks about how these are the emotions showed by the 2 guys competing for the Ace number although at that point Furuya obviously couldn't held in his frustration so he tried to fold his number 11 in half so he could have only 1 and he was warned by Haruichi for it.
At the opening ceremony, Furuya and Okumura started to get sick because there were too many people there.
