With a dominant 3-0 away win over Canada, Mexico will head back to Mexico City with plenty of confidence for next Tuesday's rematch in the Estadio Azteca.
Thanks to excellent performances from Javier Hernandez, Miguel Layun and Hirving Lozano, Mexico gained another three points in World Cup qualifying and have nearly solidified a spot in CONCACAF's Hexagonal round.
Manager Juan Carlos Osorio is still undefeated with El Tri and will feel happy with Friday night's result in Vancouver -- although he might feel worried about a questionable defense.

【GK Alfredo Talavera, 7.5】 -- A simple evening for Talavera. The goalkeeper was perfect in the rare instances when Canada's shots were on target. The Toluca veteran finished the game with a clean sheet and didn't need to step up until the end of the match.

【DF Diego Reyes, 5.5】 -- A member of the underwhelming defense. Although he didn't look as bad as Aguilar, Reyes didn't take control of his area in the center of the backline. On numerous occasions, Canada's attack easily moved past the 23-year-old.

【MF Andres Guardado, 7】 -- Didn't do anything spectacular in the match, but was a steady and consistent leader in the midfield. Guardado helped control possession and was smart with his passing going forward.

【MF Hector Herrera, 7.5】 -- Herrera was unlucky to finish the game without a goal. The Porto player controlled the midfield with Guardado and hit the post during the first half. Herrera has rediscovered the form, which makes him a key player for club and country.

【FW Hirving Lozano, 8】 -- Arguably one of Mexico's best in Vancouver. The 20-year-old seemed to lack confidence at first but immediately began to improve as the match progressed. The winger scored the second goal for El Tri and was a constant threat in his time on the pitch.

Chicharito Hernandez snapped his five-match goalless skid with Mexico's opener in the first half.
