1,I just listened to it on ESPN news radio, because I don't get the tv station. What a cutie! I missed the beginning, but here's what I remember. He was asked about Michigan's football team, and was totally in tune -- he knew the schedule and the players -- he sounded excited about the season. They asked about Palmeiro's steriod suspension, and he said he was shocked and it was sad that so many sports were having problems. He said he gets drug tested about 3 times a month and that swimming is a pretty clean sport. He talked about going to China and the great fans there. He talked about how strong the US swim team is. They asked him about life post-Olympics, and he said he has been going nonstop and that he basically lives out of a suitcase. Said though that he's not complaining because he's done some really fun things. They asked about Unfiltered. He said it will show people what they are like in and out of the pool, and will show that he and Ian are both normal people. He said they are very different -- that Ian is laid back, plays the guitar, is very mellow, etc. He said that he spends much more time in front of the tv and "screwing around online." Ha! They asked about dominant athletes, and he said that its amazing for him to be included in polls like that and to be compared to other athletes, and it shows that swimming has come a long way. The best part -- the interviewers said that they went online and noticed that there were a ton of websites devoted to him, and that he had a lot of female followers who loved to focus on the sexy pics of him. They asked him about being a sex symbol. Mike laughed, said it was a little strange, but that it is a compliment that people think that. Great interview. He was totally laughing and sounded really happy. Wish I could've seen it!
2,More details...Mike was asked about the weirdest thing thats happened with a fan. He said that when he was in China, he was walking along the Great Wall and two girls came running towards him to talk to him and that they were all excited to meet him. He said that was the weirdest just because being at the Great Wall, which he kept saying was so awesome, was the last place he expected to be approached by fans. He was asked what sports he follows. He mentioned the Orioles and the Ravens. Said he has never been into hockey. The interviewers seemed to be having a good time with him -- laughed at some of his answers and teased him a bit. They also mentioned that Mike had an amazing body (and yes, the interviewers were men). Mike said that at the pool the other day some people were flipping through a magazine and saw a picture of men in speedos and the comment that Mike could pull it off, but most people couldn't (that was posted on this site). Mike kind of laughed and said it was a good thing that people thought he could pull it off (that caused the interviewers to laugh and remark that he certainly could pull it off). Okay, I think thats it. Can't remember anything else.
