If you weren’t able to attend Carly Rose Sonenclar’s successful concert at the Best Buy Theater in New York City over the weekend, here is an exclusive detailed fan report that will make you feel like you were there. A big thank you to Sheila @CRS4LIFE for providing this report.

“The area around Times Square was a mad house as usual. When I arrived at the Best Buy Theater about a half hour before the doors opened, the line to get in was literally wrapped around the block. However, I managed to get in line before it actually wrapped around the next corner.
When the doors opened at 7pm everyone filed in pretty quickly. There were two levels of standing room in front and some theater seating in the back. People of all ages were there, including a lot of families. Everyone was very excited, eventually chanting for Carly to appear on stage.
Michael Pollack was the opening act and it was the first time I had heard him play. I was pretty impressed; he’s an extremely talented musician. At around 9pm, the lights went down while the intro played as Carly appeared on stage wearing a silver/white shimmer midriff top and black/white a-line mini skirt. She went straight into the song “Starry Eyed” by Ellie Goulding. The sound system was incredible, crystal clear and theatrical. Her band sounded great, consisting of a couple of guitarists, sax player, drummer, keyboardist and backup singer.
Carly grows more comfortable on stage with each performance. She’s a natural at live performance, which is the reason I instantly respected and became a fan of hers. Carly’s voice is so smooth no matter what she’s singing. She’s also got great rhythm, a couple of signature moves and sways that are absolutely adorable.
Carly introduced each song beforehand, and before “Stay” she asked the audience if there were any Rihanna fans there. In about the middle of her set list, she introduced her guest artist, Cris Cab. Carly is a big fan of Cris, and they sang duet on “Take Me Away” and “Pumped Up Kicks”. When Carly later introduced her brother Russell to join her in a duet for “Give Me Love, he got a huge welcome on stage. Carly immediately showed her sense of humor, asking the crowd if it was possible that Russell had more fans here than she did.
After Carly finished her signature rendition of “Feeling Good” she walked off the stage, but people expected that she would be back for an encore and kept chanting her name. When she returned she surprised us all with a new original song called “Fighters”. She talked about how the “Starlight Kids” inspired her to write this song. Everyone loved it, and I think it’s a great theme song for the charity that Carly supports.
As the cheering ended and the lights came up, those of us who had tickets to the Meet & Greet on the 2nd level of the theater, lined up in the seating area. About 100 fans were there for the M&G. Each row took turns to go down and meet Carly. I was in the 2nd to last row, so it took about an hour before I met her. Carly had changed her outfit for the M&G; she was now wearing a maroon sheer midriff top with tank top and a black a-line mini skirt.
Carly’s parents and brother were at the M&G also. I had actually met Russell before the concert started. We shook hands and just introduced ourselves as he was standing nearby talking to people he knew.
I was completely star-struck when I actually got next to Carly. I didn’t say as much as I had planned to, but I was able to give her a little gift so she thanked me and said that it was nice to meet me. She is very personable with her fans, down to earth and has a great sense of humor. Everyone had a professional photo taken and could also use their own cameras if they wanted to. She also signed autographs on pretty much anything you asked her to sign.
If you asked me what my favorite performance was, I couldn’t tell you, they were all my favorites. She is just incredible. Carly live in concert, as well as meeting her in person, is an experience not to be missed.”
