Jem commits his future
Reading Football Club are delighted to announce that Jem Karacan has signed a new deal with the Royals, keeping him at the club until June 2015.
At the age of 23 the midfielder is already in his ninth year at Madejski Stadium, having joined the Academy back in 2003 - and has made 125 (+11) appearances for the club to date.
Thirty seven of those came in the Championship winning 2011/12 season, where Karacan played a key role in promotion, finishing second in the voting for player of the season.
“I’m delighted to finally get it done, we’ve been in negotiations for a little while so it’s nice to put pen to paper,” said Karacan.
“Ever since I arrived, I’ve always wanted to become a first team regular and in the last couple of years I’ve managed to do that – to come through the ranks has been brilliant.”
Manager Brian McDermott said: “We are delighted that Jem has committed to us, he’s been an integral part of what we’ve been trying to do. He’s a great lad who is very much one of our own and we’re really pleased that he has signed a new deal.”
Full reaction from Jem is now on Reading FC Player.
