Green Liquor The Electron Machine Corporation has been accurately measuring green liquor solids in the paper industry for more than 30 years using refractometers. An optical coating problem associated with green liquor has been an ongoing problem resulting in the adaptation of several different cleaning methods. The significant innovation introduced by Electron Machine Corporation is the High Pressure Cleaner, model HPC-2. This system is activated by the refractometer at regular intervals and utilizes a small water jet nozzle installed in the pipeline. A plunger pump capable of generating over 2000psi of water pressure blasts away any coating or scaling on the sapphire measurement prism. With a clean optical interface, the refractometer very accurately measures the green liquor solids. The recommended pipeline adapter utilizes a removable nozzle that can easily be serviced or replaced. Links
